<![CDATA[Are you looking for a new fireplace mantle in the Cincinnati area?]]>Wed, 06 Nov 2013 10:21:57 GMThttp://www.buildingsupplyguy.com/ricks-blog/fireplace-mantle-in-cincinnatiPicture
It's that time of year again when homeowners begin to focus on their interior projects.

Upgrading or adding a new fireplace mantle is a popular project, but one that can be very confusing without some planning.

Most of the time, homeowners enter the showroom explaining that they are in the market for a new mantle and really haven't given it much thought. I suggest taking the time to visit the MantleCraft website and get some ideas before the trip to our showroom. You can also use their Fireplace Mantle Worksheet to gather the measurements that I'll need to assist you.

A new mantle from MantleCraft is definitely a DYI project and would probably only rate at a 6 on the difficulty scale. For something more custom, you should contact me and I'll connect you with the right people.

Although you could buy directly online from MantleCraft, I can save you around 15% because of my dealer status.

<![CDATA[Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt]]>Mon, 04 Nov 2013 09:48:00 GMThttp://www.buildingsupplyguy.com/ricks-blog/schlage-touchscreen-deadboltOkay, I will admit it. I am a technology geek and recently had the opportunity to test out the Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt. I give this deadbolt a big thumbs up.

Don't worry about your child losing or forgetting their key. With a Schlage electronic lock, each member of the family can have their own 4-digit code that will be easy to remember. If relatives are visiting, program a temporary code for their stay.

 • ANSI Grade 1 Highest Residential Security
 • Durable Resistive Touchscreen with matte finish to protect against fingerprints and smudges
 • Anti-pick shield protects against lock tampering
 • Strong motorized bolt automatically locks and unlocks when a user code is entered
 • Built-in Alarm Technology senses movement of the door and alerts homeowners with an audible alert
